At Softsasi, we don't believe in "Black Box" development. We want you to see exactly what we are building, day by day. To achieve this transparency, every project is managed through a Kanban Workspace. This visual project management system uses a "Cards and Columns" approach to show the flow of tasks from initial idea to live deployment. This guide explains the basics of how to read and interact with your project board.
The Standard Softsasi Columns:
- Backlog / Idea: Tasks that are planned for the future but haven't started yet.
- To-Do: High-priority tasks assigned for the current sprint.
- In-Progress: Tasks that our developers or designers are currently working on.
- In-Review / Verification: Tasks that are finished but need your approval or our QA team’s check.
- Completed / Live: Tasks that are fully finished and integrated into your project.
2. Understanding Kanban CardsEach "Card" is a digital folder for a specific feature or fix.
What’s inside a card?- Title: A clear description of the task (e.g., "Implement Login Page").
- Description: Detailed technical or design requirements.
- Attachments: High-fidelity mockups, code snippets, or video demos.
- Comments: A real-time thread where you can ask questions or provide feedback on that specific task.
- Labels: Color-coded tags (e.g., Bug, New Feature, Urgent, Documentation).
3. The Flow of WorkThe goal of Kanban is to move cards from the far left (Backlog) to the far right (Completed).

- Avoid the "Bottleneck": If you see 20 cards in "In-Progress" but none in "Completed," it means the project is stalled. Our project managers monitor this "Work in Progress" (WIP) limit to ensure the team stays focused.
- The Power of "Done": A task only moves to "Completed" once it has passed our internal QA and received your final sign-off.
4. How You Should Use the BoardAs a client, you aren't just a spectator; you are a collaborator.
- Check Daily: Spend 2 minutes reviewing the "In-Progress" column to see where our team is focusing their energy.
- Prioritize the Backlog: If your business goals change, you can tell your project manager to move a "Backlog" card into the "To-Do" column.
- View Milestones: Look for "Milestone Cards"—these are larger goal-posts that, when moved to "Completed," signify a major version update of your project.
5. Kanban Etiquette
[!CAUTION] Do not move cards yourself unless explicitly asked. The movement of a card often triggers automated build scripts or developer notifications. If you want a task moved, leave a comment on the card or message your project manager.
6. Real-Time SyncingOne of the best features of the Softsasi Workspace is that it is Real-Time. If a developer updates a task in Dhaka, you will see the card move instantly on your screen in New York or London. No refreshing is required.
7. SummaryKanban is more than just a list; it is the "Pulse" of your project. By understanding the card-and-column system, you can stay informed about your project's health without ever having to sit through a long, unnecessary status meeting.
